Police are investigating a homicide in St. Paul.

According to St. Paul Police, officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of Jackson Street in St. Paul's North End neighborhood at 2 p.m. Sunday on a report of a possible drug overdose.

When officers arrived, they were led to a basement where a woman was found dead. Police said it appeared she'd been assaulted.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the woman's death a homicide, police said.

Several people were in the home at the time of the call, and they were taken to police headquarters to be interviewed. However, as of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection to the woman's death.

Police said the incident isn't believed to be random.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 651-266-5650.

It is St. Paul's seventh homicide of the year.

The woman's identity will be released at a later time.
