Police open suspicious death investigation after woman's body found in Minneapolis home

Police are investigating a suspicious death Wednesday in the Stevens Square neighborhood of Minneapolis.

According to police spokesman John Elder, paramedics responded to a call for medical assistance just after 12:30 p.m. at a residence on the 400 block of Ridgewood Avenue.

First responders found the body of a deceased woman believed to be in her 30s or 40s. The victim's body showed signs of trauma, police said.

Police were called to the scene to collect evidence and start a suspicious death investigation.

No suspects are in custody.
