Friday, Bloomington police said they have taken two suspects into custody and reopened an intersection following an early-morning crash involving a stolen vehicle with ammunition inside.

According to police, at about 5 a.m., officers received a report of a vehicle crashing into a light pole in the parking lot of a business along the 400 block of American Boulevard West.

Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle was not occupied and learned the vehicle had been reported as stolen to the Brooklyn Center Police Department.

While searching the stolen vehicle, police reported finding "various types of ammunition."

A witness reportedly told officers two male suspects had left the scene of the crash on foot. Officers were able to locate both suspects near a business along Lyndale Avenue.

Police said they took the two suspects—one a 25-year-old from St. Paul, the other a 30-year-old from South St. Paul—into custody.

The investigation is ongoing, police stated.

At about 10 a.m., police said the intersection of American Boulevard and Lyndale Avenue was again open, once the incident was resolved.
