The Edmonton Oilers announced on Monday morning that they have been awarded South St. Paul native and goalie Alex Stalock, via waivers. The Minnesota Wild placed Stalock on waivers to create cap space. They add an additional $467K of space.

Stalock has been practicing after missing the first part of the season with an upper-body issue -- he spent time on the league's COVID list.

Stalock is in  the second year of a 3-year deal with a $785K average value. He went 20-11-4, with a 2.67 GAA, abd .910 SVP last season. He started all four games in the Wild’s Play-in Series loss vs. Vancouver.

With rookie Kaapo Kahkonen playing at a high level and Cam Talbot signed to a long-term deal last offseason, Stalock was the logical odd man out.
