Twins pitcher Randy Dobnak was optioned after his start on Tuesday against the White Sox.

Our Darren 'Doogie' Wolfson caught up with Dobnak on Friday from his hotel room in Chicago -- he remains part of the Twins' taxi squad for this weekend's series vs. the Cubs.

Dobnak made 10 starts for the Twins, going 6-4 with a 4.05 ERA (46.2 IP, 21 ER), 13 walks, 27 strikeouts and a 1.35 WHIP. In his last four starts, Dobnak went 1-3 with an 8.27 ERA (16.1 IP, 15 ER), six walks and 11 strikeouts.

At one point, Dobnak was 5-1 with an ERA of 1.78, a big reason why the Twins will soon clinch a playoff berth.

Dobnak hopes to be on the Twins' initial playoff roster, one of a few decisions that will challenge manager Rocco Baldelli and his staff.
