Monday, the NBA named Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards as the Western Conference Rookie of the Month.

It's Edwards' third consecutive rookie of the month honor.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft finished his rookie year by averaging 27 points on 52/8% shooting, including 40.6% from three, with 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in May. The month included a career-high-tying 42-point effort against Memphis on May 5, which made Edwards the second player 19 years of age or younger to have multiple 40-point games in the NBA, joining LeBron James in 2003-04. He also is the first 19-year-old in NBA history to have 40+ points and 5+ threes in a game.

Additionally, Edwards became the youngest player in league history to make 150 threes. He also set Timberwolves records with four 30-point games by a rookie and eight games with at least five made three-pointers.
