Gophers volleyball team sweeps Georgia Tech to reach Sweet 16

The third-seeded Gophers volleyball team beat Georgia Tech 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-18) Thursday night to advance to the Regional Semifinals of the NCAA Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska.

Big Ten Player of the Year Stephanie Samedy led Minnesota with 13 kills and also added nine digs. Adanna Rollins also had 13 kills against the Yellow Jackets and freshman Taylor Landfair added 11 kills. Regan Pittman led the team with six blocks.

The Gophers will face the winner of the Pittsburgh/Utah match in the Sweet 16 on Sunday.
