The Gophers have added transfers for 2021 from big-time programs Texas A&M and North Carolina State, and now add Clemson. Defensive tackle Nyles Pinckney committed to Minnesota on Monday.

Pinckney, a graduate transfer, has played in 55 games over 4 seasons for Clemson, starting 13.

In 2019, he earned 3rd team All-ACC honors.

In 2020, he played in all 12 games, starting two, compiling over 20 tackles. He had three tackles in the semifinal playoff loss vs. Ohio State on New Year's Day.

Pinckney was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school in South Carolina.

Via transfer, the Gophers have previously added ex-Texas A&M WR Dylan Wright, ex-North Carolina St. DT Val Martin, and ex-Texas Abilene Christian LB Jack Gibbens.
