The Prior Lake Lakers girls lacrosse team defeated the Rosemount Irish 13-9, Tuesday evening at Rosemount High School.

The first half was a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair. No team led by more than a goal throughout the entire first half. Rosemount started the scoring when Emma Duchscherer scored for the Irish. But, Prior Lake's Payton Bloedow scored five first-half goals to help the Lakers lead 8-7 at the break.

In the second half, Rosemount scored the first two goals, capped by Allie Mackinac, making it a 9-8 Irish lead with 21:27 left in the game. But, that would be the last time the Irish found the back of the net. Prior Lake stepped up their defense, to go along with their high-powered offense. Bloedow made it a 9-9 game with 19:16 left in the game. She then broke the tie with her seventh goal of the game, making it 10-9 Lakers with 13:08 remaining. Bloedow added another goal to finish the game with eight goals.

Rosemount falls to 4-2 with the loss, while Prior Lake improves to 7-1 on the season.
