The United States Postal Service said Friday that its Minneapolis Loop Station will reopen but the Powderhorn Station will remain closed.

According to the USPS, the Minneapolis Powderhorn Station will be closed until further notice while repairs are underway to fix damage from recent riots and civil unrest. Retail and PO Boxes are expected to reopen next week.

PO Box mail and hold mail will be available at the Minneapolis Main Post Office, located at 100 S 1st Street.

Meanwhile, the Loop Station reopened Thursday.

The update comes after postal operations were relocated for the Minnehaha and Lake Street stations because they were destroyed by fire.

USPS announces temporary suspension of delivery service at some Minneapolis, St. Paul locations

"Our employees are working hard to restore retail services throughout South Minneapolis," said Minneapolis Postmaster William Jones. "We are happy to report that all of our customers are receiving mail to their homes and businesses."

As a precautionary measure, USPS has also temporarily removed some collection boxes in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Those will be back in service when it's deemed safe to do so.

USPS also said customers from the ZIP code 55406 will now be served out of the Minneapolis Main Post Office, too. An ID will be required for all mail pickups.

Also, customers from ZIP Codes 55408 and 55409 will now be served out of the Loring Post Office in downtown Minneapolis, which is located at 18 N 12th Street.

USPS reminded customers some services are available online.
