Metro Transit: SUV collides with light rail train in St. Paul, eastbound service delayed

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew at the scene reported the collision was between an SUV and a light rail train at Cromwell and University avenues.

The crew at the scene reported damage appeared to be minor.

Metro Transit reported that an initial investigation revealed the SUV made an illegal turn into the light rail train. The SUV driver was taken to Regions Hospital as a precaution. Metro Transit also stated there were no injuries reported on the train.

Eastbound trips were delayed about 20 minutes and affected stops included:
